Here is a typical "Charlie" story. He was so proud of himself because he walked from MGM back to Treasure Island, And if you know the Vegas strip, it's a LONG walk especially if you're limping a bit. Then he confessed that he stopped and got a foot and head massage by two women! Because his feet was hurting. He paid $80 for the massages. I told him it would have been cheaper if he ubered it or took a cab!! So not surprised...
Dad stayed at Treasure Island and complained about how expensive the food was at the hotel - $42 for breakfast! And I told him that if he stayed at a more expensive hotel, it would have cost alot more!

OMG, I am soooo tired! It's over, all that hard work and planning. But it was so much fun! There were about 120 ppl. Some I haven't seen in over 20 years! It was really amazing to see ppl from Brookline, Brighton, Tai Tung, Mass Pike Towers, Castle Square and the South End come together to socialize and dance. Ppl in their 40's, 50's and some 60's! More importantly, seeing my Uncle Rob and Mona on the dance floor. Heartwarming! Also, seeing 3 generations of the Chin family dancing - Mona, Renee, Lisa and Kayla! That was my favorite part of the night! My co-hosts and I were bombarded with requests to host another one next year! I've never laughed so much while planning an event. My co-hosts were great and we'll probably plan another one. Here are some pics and a video of me, Lisa and Kayla doing the Wobble! Dad is flying to SF tomorrow for an Ng association meeting and making a pit stop to Vegas. Typical. I'm a little nervous as this will be his first trip by himself since the stroke.
At the same time, my dance party is also tomorrow! So excited - Rob, Mona, Renee, Lisa, Kayla and Judy 2 will also be there. I;m so grateful for the support of my family. It will be fun as there'll be people there that I haven't seen in over 20+ years. And yes Helen won't be there physically but she will be there in spirit. Plus Jocelyn will be there to help out. Will do a post-party post with details and pics. Can't believe it was five years ago that she left us. I remember how I felt and the exact moment when she took her last breath, I think it's something I'll never forget as it will stay with me for the rest of my life.
My Dad and I went to visit her at the cemetery. Dad pulls out a ziploc bag and chopsticks? WTF? And he starts picking up goose poop with the chopsticks all around Mom's headstone! We were there a few weeks ago and there was poop EVERYWHERE! I guess he didn't like it and decided to do something about it. This is another way of him honoring my mom - Dunks coffee, More cigarettes and cleaning up the poop surrounding her space. Shows how much he loves her. Awwww. |

AuthorI'm fortunate enough to have an awesome job at a biotech company. I'm also blessed to have the bestest of friends in the world - from Castle Square, ATASK, and Jamie Club - you know who you are! Last but not least, I have a family that are always there for me. Categories |
