See all of the videos from our trip in MD. In one Dad talks about how he and my mom first met. Apparently, he went back to HK to pick a wife. He met over 100 women but only wanted my mom! There's so many funny stories - sorry it's mostly in chinese. Let me know if you need translation.

So I dropped my parents off at the airport today. I'm happy for them to go and relax. Plus Nancy and Brandon really cater to them so it's definitely a treat. But I didn't realize how freeing it felt knowing I didn't have to go and check up on them every day. That probably sounds awful but it seems like a huge burden is lifted off my shoulders for the next couple of days.
I'm also heading down next week to hang out with them. It'll be nice to get away. Plus I know there'll be some good food - Sitting in the waiting area to see Dr Marcoux. It's her last treatment for this round and then she and my dad are off to MD. Since they're not going to HK, we thought the next best thing was to visit Nancy and Brandon. Hopefully, this last treatment won't take too much out of her. My poor mom!
Believe it or not, Mom loves breakfast. Eggs, sausages, french toast, potatoes....more so than dim sum. Who knew? Anyways, we took her to The Diner in Watertown. She told us she was up early this am. Took a walk, took care of her plants and cleaned up. So she was exhausted. But not too tired for breakfast! She was one happy "diner".
Took Mom for her 2nd treatment today and Dr. Marcoux asked her how she was feeling. She looked at me as if I had the answer for her. But then she gave me a little smile and I knew she was ok.
I have to say she is doing better mentally and physically. Other than fatigue on the day of the treatment, she's remarkably in good spirits. She doesn't seem to have alot of the side effects associated with the chemo but she's also taking alot of meds. I can't even keep up. I give her so much credit. She is much braver and stronger than I could ever be. I guess she's used to it as she's been the foundation of our family. Thanks, Mom! |

AuthorI'm fortunate enough to have an awesome job at a biotech company. I'm also blessed to have the bestest of friends in the world - from Castle Square, ATASK, and Jamie Club - you know who you are! Last but not least, I have a family that are always there for me. Categories |
