Today the dr told my uncle Por has looked the best since she was admitted. I have to believe our visits helped tremendously. It's been 3 months since we seen her in person. Yes, she's hanging in there...fingers crossed...I told my uncle Dave, I know it's selfish for me to want her to hang on a little bit more but as long as she goes peacefully with the knowledge that she has loved ones around her.
Por wasn't eating and wasn't doing well at the nursing home. We asked if she should go to the hospital so she was transferred to the Faulkner almost 3 weeks ago. She also tested positive for the virus. Unfortunately, she didn't like having an IV in her and kept pulling it out. Given her age (98), the drs didn't think putting in a durable IV would be best as it would be uncomfortable for her. We all agreed that putting her on comfort care makes the most sense at this time. They told us this past weekend she was allowed 1 visitor a day. My Uncle Dave went Monday and I went yesterday. She didn't recognized me at first but knew who I was after talking to her. I had to break it to her that she had the virus and that's why no one has been able to visit her. Also told her how much I love her and wants to see her live to 100 years old! She agreed and wants to go to my wedding! Haha, hmmm that might be awhile! It's funny because I prepared myself to say goodbye to her today. She didn't look good and seem listless and tired when I talked to her Monday via Facetime. But after spending time with her, I felt confident that she is still fighting. She broke my heart at one point when she asked me if she was going to die? I asked if she wanted to die and she shook her head.

Happy Mother's Day to all Moms in heaven and here on earth. Especially to you, Mom. I think of you every day and most especially today. Wonder how you would have dealt with this pandemic. Kinda glad you're not here to experience it. Yet at the same time, it wouldn't have been a big deal for you. You're the strongest person I know and would had handle it with dignity, courage and grace. You would've reassured me that everything would be ok. And we would come out of it stronger. Thank you for being such a strong role model. Just a tribute to all of the Moms in my life. Cheers to all of you for being a inspiration in my life. To my Mom, I've said it all in the blog dedicated to you. To Por Por for being such a fighter to this day! And lastly to the Aunties, Mona for being my second Mom and to the two Judies for being a great addition to the Chin family. Thanks You!
